Kayla Silvia, daughter of Latham NG Leader Learay Silvia, will be giving a presentation on conservation treatments of textiles. This will include her experience with textiles, as well as furniture and objects. Kayla will provide tips on how to store some of your textile heirlooms and names of local conservators.
Kayla’s impressive education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, Bachelor of Science in Art with a concentration on Art History, with minors in Chemistry and Apparel Textiles.
She has over 3000 hours of internships in the field, including Peebles Island in NY, and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
Kayla will be leaving for Glasgow, Scotland in the fall to pursue a two year study program in textile conservation.
