**The Capt. John McKenna IV Military Courtesy Room, Albany Airport
The Military Courtesy Room is always looking for blankets and small pillows for the service men and women to use during their wait in the courtesy room and also to take with them on their flight if they would like.    Blankets should be approximately 35 x 42.   Pillows can be 10 x 10 or 12 x 12.  Some pillows have been made using a form and covering it or making a form out of muslin and stuffed them, then made a removable cover by overlapping fabric on the back of the pillow

The courtesy room is open daily from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM and  is located on the third floor near the observation area.  You may reach it by elevator or by the stairs just to the left of security, you need not go through security.   If you would like to donate blankets to the military courtesy room and would like to call first, the phone number is (518)242-4415.    The first half hour of parking in the short-term lot at the airport is free and I have been able to deliver the blankets to the room and get to the toll gate within that half hour.    Family members have been known to take a blanket home with them if the service person didn’t take it with them.   To learn more about this room and Capt. McKenna, go to www.jmckennamilitarycourtesyroom.org.     Thank you for this submission Pat!
